Day 23, Rainy day

Today was a travel day. We left our good friends and lovely hosts, Bill and Susan, and set out in the rain.

Even in the rain, driving along the rivers and over the bridges can be picturesque in that Monet's cathedrals kind of way.
We stopped twice, once at a rest stop to eat lunch and once at a casino to get gas. They often have good prices. For those of you who RV, a friend had recommended the Next Exit book to us before we headed out on our big trip. It lists the services at Interstate exits. While I also use Google maps and Gas Buddy, I find it so much easier to look for rest stops and gas stations with the book.

When we were trying to figure out what to do with Olivia, I came across a website that listed tickets Seattle library card holders could get. I wondered if San Jose library card holders had a similar benefit and found that they did. Through Discover and Go, card holders are eligible for passes to some area museums. In addition, Californian residents will soon be eligible to check out passes for California State Parks. Folks who have library cards might like to see what else their local library offers aside from books and DVDs.

With the constant rain, traffic and a number of delays due to accidents, we finally made it to the RV Park. Little did I know it is right behind an outlet mall with a keyed gate that goes between. Since we arrived with time to shop, how could we resist? Denis bought badly needed shoes and shirts. Having arrived late, we only had time for two stores before the outlet closed. Maybe that was a good timing after all.
