Day 19, If You Don't Like the Weather...
Started out the morning taking Cody for a neighborhood walk. The weather was gray and chilly and the memories I had of lovely gardens of a year ago weren't matching what I was seeing so instead, I concentrated on the variety of homes and the architecture. It began raining but we made it back before getting too wet.
There is a Trader Joe's about a block from the house. With all the new spring products, I enjoyed walking through and picking up a few. My favorite is the lemon ice cream. If you like lemons and ice cream, pick it up soon. It is a limited edition.
We'd planned to go to the zoo with Olivia and Kathleen, her nanny, but changed plans since it was raining. However, by the time the morning nap was over and Olivia had lunch, it was sunny, though still chilly, so we ventured out.
Not sure who enjoyed the zoo the most. Olivia didn't always know what to look for it at especially when the animals weren't moving. We were disappointed the petting farm was closed but she liked seeing the goats and cows. Her favorite seemed to be the penguins. She could get up close to the glass and watch them swim right up to her. She mostly enjoyed seeing the other children and did a lot of waving.
When we got home and she was down for a nap, I took Cody for a second walk, this one in the sunshine. The gardens looked much nicer this time. 😊
Cody and Olivia played in the yard for a while. She practicd standing.
The weather turned much colder and the evening brought wind, rain, and hail. Colleen and Alex went out to eat and we had Olivia all to ourselves.
