Day 15, Closing in on Destination Olivia
The morning was cold and rainy. The weather forecast called for snow so the campground was much sparser despite many sites being reserved.
We headed to our friends in Port Townsend. On the way, we stopped in Port Angeles. Denis thought it felt like a chowder kind of day.
The Port Angeles Ferry Building has number of artists and restaurants. We chose Downriggers partly because of the good reviews for clam chowder and partly because of the view of the harbor from their second floor windows.
We ordered pan fried oysters and a bowl of clam chowder. Both were delicious and were enough for us to share.
We are staying with our long-time friends, Bill and Susan, in Port Townsend. They moved here four years ago and sound like they haven't regretted leaving the East Coast a bit. We're looking forward to exploring more of Port Townsend with them tomorrow.
