Day 78, Taking a chance on an RV park in Vegas

We left earlyish trying to beat the rain. We managed to get the pod ready before it started raining but, unfortunately, drove much of the way in the rain.

We passed through Arizona again
before reaching Nevada. I was surprised at how quickly the landscape changed.
We are staying outside Las Vegas.
Denis planned the final part of the trip and chose The Clark County Shooting Complex for tonight.
Our early departure and the time change had us arriving before the noon checkout but there was no problem with us checking in. We set up in a light rain.

I worried that the noise from the shooting would get annoying but, it really hasn't been bothersome and the complex closes at 5 on Fridays so we are expecting a quiet night, away from highway noise.

Denis did a deep drive on restaurants off the Strip and found Chengdu Taste. Its LA restaurant is on some lists of top Chinese restaurants. We decided to try it. We asked for medium, not regular level of spice. The green beans and pork was perfect for me as long as I left the red peppers on the plate. The crispy rice and beef was spicier but still edible for me with rice. Both were delicious.

We didn't want to go into the city center. Pre-Covid might have made this a different stop.

We got back to the pod after 4. Denis might have wanted to venture out on a bike ride, he misses his regular riding. But, it's pretty windy. Guess we'll have a quiet late afternoon to make up for the early morning.

I'm adding The Neon Museum here as a reminder for us should we ever come this way again. They have evening guided tours through historical Las Vegas signs. Unfortunately, all tours for tonight are sold out.
