Day 47, You've Got to Have (He)Art

In every long trip (we've now put on over 6,000 miles), there are days for just catching up. Today, Denis took the SUV into the dealer to have an oil change. This sounds like an easy enough proposition but getting an appointment was a huge feat. We began contacting Subaru dealers in the Marlborough area last week and found that we were able to make an appointment for any time from Sept. 20 through sometime in October! One of the dealers even advertises "same-day quick service" but when Denis went early Saturday morning he was told that they are unable to accommodate same-day "at this time." Denis pressed and found out that they are unable to hire staff - so it's not just restaurants! With a little persistence, he was able to get an appointment for this afternoon - we are now set to leave my brother's house tomorrow.

While Denis was off taking care of things, I got to visit deCordova Sculpture Park in Lincoln, MA. If you've been following the blog, you know that visiting outdoor art has been one of the things we've sought out. The deCordova has over 60 sculptures, many of them from New England artists. It was a beautiful day to wander around and really nice to spend time alone with my brother.

The rest of the day was spent getting the Pod ready and making more reservations as we continue to plan our trip home.

We did get out to Rail Trail Flatbread Co in Hudson for dinner where we got to have a Mexican corn-inspired flatbread and New City Microcreamery where we got to have Greek baklava-inspired ice cream. What a delicious way to end our visit!
