Day 9, Family Time
Another morning in Seattle, another walk with Cody. This is really not a burden. The homes in the neighborhood are architecturally diverse and the front yard gardens are lovely, though admittedly, lovelier in the spring. Also, I get to take a peek at Seattle from high atop the Queen Anne hill.Today was cooler and overcast. Still, Denis, Colleen, Olivia, and I headed out to the Washington Park Arboretum and the Seattle Japanese Garden. Both were highly accessible with the stroller and not very crowded even though it is a Saturday. The Arboretum is 230 acres with lots of paths to wander through. We loved watching Olivia's big eyes and she tried to take it in. The Seattle Japanese Garden is lovely, with 3.5 acres of winding paths, bridges, a pond, and waterfalls. Interestingly, though it is completely outdoors, there were signs asking all visitors to wear masks, and 90% did. Note, ours came off for the photo.
Following our meander, we stopped for a quick lunch at a local French cafe. We split three items three ways for just enough food for the middle of the day.
We spent the evening watching Olivia while Colleen and Alex got to go on a well-deserved dinner dateđź’—
